Forests and industry are pillars of sustainability and prosperity in the Grande Region, a unique space where the borders of Belgium, Luxembourg, the French Grand Est, and the German states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland unify. The Greater Green+ initiative is Europe’s first interregional project designed to drive regional integration and sustainable prosperity through green technology collaboration.
Last week, our Business Development Director, Philipp Hauser, had the opportunity of representing SOLER Group at the GreenTech Solutions Summit in Luxembourg. He shared our vision on how SOLER enhances regional integration and fosters sustainable, climate-smart forestry.
Here’s how we are making an impact:
1 – Producing sustainable biocarbon: Offering a sustainable feedstock is a critical step in achieving climate neutrality for metallurgical industries across France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany.
2 – Partnering with the German clean tech pioneer INERATEC: Together, we strengthen our nature-based circular economy model by producing biocarbon and e-Fuels with high environmental and economic efficiency.
3 – Improving forest management in the Grand Est area: Our use of forest management residues supports forest owners and is a source of renewable carbon-based products that are necessary for climate neutrality of industries in the region.
Philipp also presented our new project in Epinal at the Green Valley Ecoparc industrial platform, where SOLER plan to produce 40 000 tonnes of biocarbon for industrial use. This milestone, supported by the France 2030 program, marks the first industrial scale biocarbon plant in the region.
A huge thank you to Interreg with the project Greater Green, Luxinnovation, Grand E-Nov+ for the invite. We look forward to deepening our collaboration toward a greener future!
