French Forest and Sustainable Management
SOLER Group is the leading French producer of charcoal. We use exclusively French wood sourced from sustainably managed forests.
We mainly valorize thinning wood from the French forest.This wood supports forest maintenance and natural regeneration. It also preserves biodiversity and strengthens the French timber industry. Sustainable forest management helps support the French wood sector and contributes to reducing carbon footprint.
In France, foresters plan timber harvesting through management plans that can extend up to 20 years. The French National Forest Office (ONF) oversees this organization. These plans ensure forest maintenance, soil protection and forest renewal.
SOLER Group operates within this national forest framework. We prioritize short supply chains. We locally transform French wood into charcoal, biochar and biocarbon. We develop this activity within a circular economy approach.
Our products are certified PEFC France, Bois de France and Origine France Garantie.These certifications guarantee traceability and French origin of the wood. We are members of the Earthworm Foundation, the WWF France “Entreprendre pour la Planète” program and the Coq Vert community of Bpifrance.

Compliance with the European Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)
SOLER Group complies with the European Deforestation Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 (EUDR).
Before placing wood-derived (charcoal, charcoal briquettes, firewood and densified logs) products on the market, we implement a due diligence procedure.
This commitment is based on three principles :
• Our products do not contribute to deforestation.
• We produce them in compliance with French legislation.
• We submit a due diligence statement through the European Information System.
We collect supporting evidence. We geolocate forest plots. We assess risks within our supply chain. We implement appropriate risk mitigation measures.
By commercializing SOLER Group products, our partners benefit from an EUDR-compliant supply chain and documented traceability.
